Allard Hall - UBC Faculty of Law building - February 2012
We recently completed installation of an extensive series of signs at the new Faculty of Law building (Allard Hall) at UBC. Signage included
mosaic and aluminum area/room signs, sandblasted 'Justice' floor directories, large wall art, and an impressive freeform donor wall in the main entry hall. The sign products tie the whole building together from bottom to top, and create eye-catching artwork to spice up every corridor. We truly broke convention with these 'signs as art', proving again that anything in signage is possible.
Mosaic and aluminum signs: These ceiling-height signs combine unique blue-gradient glass bead mosaics with contrasting aluminum bands that incorporate cut-through lettering and, in some cases, etched panels.

'Justice' floor directories: non-intrusive yet easy to find, these wood veneer plinths have the classic 'Lady Justice' icon sandblasted into one side, and the floor number sandblasted into the other side. Detailed wayfinding will be added to these signs in the future.

Large wall art: Various printed pieces and wood accented blackboard-style panels showcase defining features and facts about the building, and give students an opportunity to voice their opinions or showcase events and books.

'Kelp' Donor wall: Stunning and impossible to miss, this large donor wall truly encapsulates the appreciation for all of Allard Hall's generous donors. Beautiful jewel-tone colours illuminate hand-shaped waves of kelp-like acrylic which contain the donor names. To the sides, rounded discs mounted to a white stone mosaic, reminiscent of the mosaics found elsewhere in the building, indicate the donor level represented by each colour of 'kelp.'

Season's Greetings and Holiday Office Closure - December 2011
On behalf of John Peachey & Associates, we would like to wish you and your family a very merry holiday season and all the best in 2012. It has been an amazing past twelve months for the company, filled with lots of creative and interesting projects, and we look forward to continuing to make wonderful signs in the new year. Please be advised the office will be closed on December 23rd at noon, and will re-open on January 2nd at 8am.
Nakoma Club - November 2011
A unique illuminated cast concrete sign with inset letters.
To match the look of existing signs around the Windsor Gate development, we designed the Nakoma Club wall sign as a concrete piece with
inset lettering. Made as a self-contained unit, the letters and logo shapes were cast into concrete along with a concealed LED strip along the top to illuminate the lettering. The result is upscale and classy, just like the Windsor Gate community.
Anderson Walk - November 2011
Clean lines with layered elegance - A John Peachey Specialty.
We recently completed and installed this contemporary sign at a North Vancouver residence. Clean black lines frame a vibrant, natural wood sign face with sandblasted black text, lit from above by a concealed LED light strip. The showpiece, though, is the protruding logo element: A bold black framework surrounds slightly recessed pieces of hand-picked wood, cut to shape against the grain and nestled into the frame's odd jigsaw shapes.
Buchanan Pool - August 2011
A stunning and serene new water feature at UBC incorprates concentric rings of pale grey text resembling gentle water ripples expanding from the base of a modern sculptural structure. The text consists of various poems and sayings in different languages from a range of memorable people. To acheive this, the Innovative Signage team went on-site for weeks, meticulously carving and finishing the individual letters and symbols. The end result is beautiful.
Goldcorp - July 2011
Gold is precious and a gold mining company should reflect that with an outstanding sign. That is precisely what Goldcorp did recently with their new lobby sign. A detailed relief map of the western hemisphere was reverse-carved deeply into the back of a massive piece of crystal clear glass, then detailed with the company logo and locations of its mining operations. The impressive finished product was installed on wood walls with gold stand-off bolts.
UBC Biological Sciences Complex - Glass Shrouds - May, 2011
Six beautiful 45 foot tall glass shrouds enchance the newly-renovated Biological Sciences Complex at UBC. Special tempered and laminated printed glass is held off concrete column by custom aluminum and stainless steel bracketing. All glass was permanently printed with decorative biological images and gently backlit using state of the art LED lighting.
Unique New Sign Projects- April 2011
Herons West Coast Kitchen + Bar - Herons West Coast Kitchen + Bar, an establishment that has had a long-time home in the prestigious Waterfront Hotel, has had a recent facelift. The restaurant was updated and rebranded using several sign types all integrated with each other and with the new brand to promote sophisticated, high quality exposure and identification.

Predator Group - This is a very unique sign for a mining consortium. The sign consists of a real, 200lb granite chunk with carved claw marks and brushed aluminum lettering. This rough but beautiful sign is firmly affixed to the fine woodwork in the reception area.
Canada Place Anthem Update - April 2011
We have now completed the sandblasting and in-filling of the Canada Anthem, in both English and French, into the custom circular pathway at Canada Place as part of their extensive renovations. This is a wonderful and interactive addition to the plaza.
